Quality Considerations

Issues with Home Printing:

Home-printed decoupage printables, created using laser and inkjet inks, are prone to smearing and running when moistened with decoupage glue or varnish.  Regular home copy paper is less suitable for decoupage due to its lower durability and coated finish. The ink used in home laser printers and ink jets, is formulated to lay on the surface of copy paper. Looking for a workaround, Crafters resort to spraying the printed paper with hair spray and engine spray. These not only yellow over time, but are bad for your lungs and bad for the environment. If you care about having professionally crafted projects, then buy professional prints.
